Welcome to Pend Oreille Charters and allow me to introduce myself. I'm Kurt Artner, owner and fishing guide for POC. Like many folks who ended up in the Panhandle of North Idaho, I was invited to visit by friends who had discovered this great sleepy little town. I made the visit in 1978 and never went back to Southern California!!

I worked as a carpenter, but spent all my time on Lake Pend Oreille trying to catch that elusive 25 pound Rainbow Trout. A lot of "released" under twenty five pound fish and many lake hours put in later, I started to think in the direction of buying my own Charter business. In 2001 a charter came up for sale and I took the plunge. With twenty five plus years on the lake it was time for me to watch people catch fish with a smile on their faces..always waiting for them to catch that perfect fish......that perfect fish being a 25 Pound Kamloop Rainbow Trout!
